On August 14, 2024, the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board will hold a public hearing on benchmarking of best practices in management of aging infrastructure. The goal for this hearing is to gather information from relevant external organizations on best practices in the management of aging safety infrastructure to inform the development of potential safety improvements to the Department of Energy’s programs.

The hearing will feature testimony from representatives of the Government Accountability Office, American Nuclear Society, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

This hearing will be live streamed on the internet. A link to view the stream will be available on this page on the day of the hearing. Interested members of the public are invited to submit comments for inclusion in the hearing record. Comments may be emailed to hearing@dnfsb.gov. (link sends e-mail). Documentation related to the public hearing is available below. Additional documentation will be posted here as it becomes available.
